Membership of the QJA is open only to Queensland Justices of the Peace and Queensland Commissioners for Declarations, even though they may reside in another state. Some of the benefits of membership are: · Membership pin, certificate and ID card upon joining · Provision of specific advice to members about problems encountered in the performance of their duties · Receipt of the quarterly QJA Journal, which contains articles of interest about the office and duties of the JP · The opportunity to purchase “The Guide to JP Practice in Queensland” - a publication exclusive to QJA members · 24/7 public liability and personal accident insurance cover for JP duties · A branch network that provides local meetings and local professional development opportunities. · Representation made on behalf of all JPs to the government · Networking opportunities with fellow JPs · Regular update courses including the staging of the annual QJA State Conference. Memberships are renewable by July 1 every year and renewal tax invoices are sent out with the winter edition of the QJA Journal. The annual cost of membership for the 2009/2010 financial year is |
